Mohammed Kudus, a teenage midfielder for Ajax, has declared his intention to stay with the Amsterdam club, which has put a stop to Everton’s aspirations of signing him.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian international was anticipated to join the Blues on loan with a permanent option. Erik ten Hag was replaced by Alfred Schreuder after he joined Manchester United, but he denies knowing anything about it.
Mohammed Kudus was selected for the Ajax squad, in contrast to teammate Antony, who was left out amid rumors that he may follow Ten Hag to United, for their 1-0 away victory at Sparta Rotterdam on Saturday.
The Ajax manager told Voetbal International, “I haven’t heard anything. I believe he shouldn’t go. You can tell he’s significant. We require lots of talented players.
Kudus, who has only played 23 minutes of the season so far, has slipped behind academy graduate Kenneth Taylor in the pecking order and is disappointed at the lack of playing time.
“We spoke with him three times,” Schreuder continued, “because he also feels like he should play.
