God forbid that the NDC ever returns to power – Allotey Jacobs

Allotey Jacobs, a former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said that the opposition group shouldn’t take back control.

He claimed that because the NDC had nothing to offer Ghanaians, God shouldn’t allow them to retake power.

He said that the NDC and former President John Dramani Mahama are responsible for Ghana’s inability to control illegal mining while speaking on “Kokrokoo” on Peace FM in Accra.

He referred to Ghana’s politics as “dirty” and exposed certain prominent NDC members, including John Dramani Mahama, a former president and 2020 NDC presidential candidate, for making claims that aimed to legitimize the illegal mining industry.

According to him, Mr. Mahama and his party are a contributing factor in why Ghana appears to be losing the galamsey battle.

” . . God forbid that they will return to power, but assuming in the near future they come into power, won’t the NPP also attack them? If it happens this way, are we doing this country good?”, he queried.

He criticized the opposition party while stating that Ghanaians needed to be aware of the “wrongdoers,” or “those who don’t want Ghana to flourish, and set them aside for Ghana’s water bodies to become better.”

Chinese national Aisha Huang was remanded in police prison on galamsey for engaging in unlawful mining by an Accra Circuit Court.

Ms. Huang is being tried for engaging in the sale and acquisition of minerals without a valid license as well as mining without a license, according to the state.

Three other people also showed up, including Aisha Huang, who spoke through an interpreter.

Following her recapture in the Ashanti Region, the Chinese “galamsey” queen has dominated the major news headlines for the past week.

When asked about her re-arrest following her return to Ghana in 2018, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo indicated he was unaware of the fact that she had been returned.

The President claimed in Ho that he was unaware of the deportation’s precise final details.
