Karun Biography, Music, Videos, Booking

Kenyan R&B singer-songwriter Karungari Mungai, also known as Karun (formerly Miss Karun), is a former member of the renowned Camp Mulla music group. She was born in 1994 to Eric and Molly Mungai, two of Kenya’s wealthiest individuals.

Afro-pop-influenced love songs “Here With Me” and “Catch A Vibe,” both from her sophomore EP with the same name, are important R&B singles in Karun’s solo discography. She is well known for the body-positive, feminine anthem “Glow Up,” which made its debut on Mr. Eazi’s Empawa Africa show. She has lately collaborated with Grammy Award winners on tracks like Savara of Sauti Sol’s “VIBRATION” and Juls’ “Say You Love Me.”

She is a marvel for someone so young. She has achieved significant career advancements, including appearing on Forbes’ Top 30 Under 30 Africa list in 2019 and receiving nominations for AFRIMA in 2021. She has also won honors, including “R&B artist of the year” at the Cafe Ngoma Awards.

She has also worked with Focusrite on their official Scarlett 2i2 promo and had songs play on TV series including Fox TV’s “The Resident” (S02E12).

Above all, Karun’s music is sincere and meditative because she wants to encourage new musicians to forge their own paths and make music that endures.
